Stokkr spiraled down when he heard Duskstorm speak, but then saw a glint in the desert, the glint of armor. Then he saw a cloud of dust, which meant either a regiment of Kull, or Imperial Calvary, because the Varden did not have horses in great numbers. He tasted the air smells, and faintly smelled horse. They were Imperial Calvary, and Stokkr guessed that somehow Galbatorix had found out about the plant, and had sent these riders to find it and destroy it, dooming the elves. They obviously weren't counting to two dragons, but Stokkr couldn't help but feel that Glabatorix would send than a battalion of Calvary to secure a chance to destroy the elves. Stokkr said to the others,"Prepare for battle, a battalion of Imperial Calvary is coming, they will be easy for me and the other dragon, but I think there may be reinforcements soon." Realizing he did not know the other dragons name, he spoke to the other dragon, " I have not yet learned your name, mine is Stokkr, what is yours, young one."

Arget growled at how things had gone wrong so fast. Selena was weakened severely and would be useless for healing or fighting, especially fighting. "My name is Arget wise one, it shames me to admit that even the battalion might prove a trouble for me in my state. My condition isn't fit for a battle while my rider is unable to fight. She tries to block her thoughts and pain even in her fever but our connection is to strong." He was ashamed of his current weakness but he was hungry, worried and distracted. "I've been pampered." He said growling at his-self.

Duskstorm came out of his house with some of the herb and a boll of water. hearing the tail end of the talk he know something was wrong, "what is it?" as he talked he became more aware of the things around him. no hint of trouble yet, but the dragons have better smell them me. His gloved hand stroked his great sword.

Stokkr spoke with his mind to everyone, "A battalion of Imperial Calvary is on their way here, I shall handle them alone, guard your rider Arget, there may be more coming from a different direction. You human, if that herb really works, give it to the elf." Now for the first time Stokkr noticed that the elf smell was different, and he surmised that the elf was half-human, although he had only heard of this once before in his lifetime. Then Stokkr leapt into the air and flew towards the enemy. He then spiraled down roaring at the horses. The imperial cavalry came to a chaotic halt, with the horses frightened and throwing their riders off, and running into each other. Then stokkr landed in front them, and a river of fire came from his jaws engulfing the front ranks. He then jumped back into the air and went above the range of bows, before they could recover. He circled above, waiting for a opening.
