Be on alert, Lenai is about. The red haired elf women thought smirking. The slender warrior knew she was ready to fight and boy did she want a fight. Over a century of remincsing and training she was nearly ready to fight and destroy anyone in her way. Ever since Renath had died the elf had cursed the disease and blamed Galbatorix, Galbatorix had been killing. injuring dragons and her dragon recieved a blood disease from his sword and she was pissed. The wielder of Tenken, a katana she had forged herself with ore that had been nurtured by magic, her magic to be precise. Her long black shift style dress only had a blood red sash for color, the sash that kept her sheath at her waist. It was dark and cold. The cold never did bother her because as an elf she was immune to such human feelings. The snow was several inches thick but the sensation of snowflakes on her cool skin was lovely and as it slowly melted and slid down her arm she felt relaxed. The blue eyed woman enjoyed the snow, it reflected herself, the Ice Queen as she was named, for an elf she was cold or rather even for an elf. She had emotions but she rarely had any for anyone.

People understood why or were sure that she had once been a rider but had lost her dragon young and afterwards attempted to commit suicide, something an elf never did or wasn't meant to. Her long red tresses were loose and wavy. Over a century mourning Renath had not dulled the pain in her heart that had not yet thawed. The glorious silver dragon with a future bright as a great flier who could rule the skies ahead of the others brute strength users. Renath was a gentle dragon, not ferocious like many, his rider was the more ferocious one and he tempered her wild impulses while she taught him her loyalty and love.

A tall and slim figure moved silently through the darkness of that cold night. Keeping his head down and his hears under a ribbon, the elf seemed to be muttering something imperceptible. Unlike most times, Fenrir was now wearing a cape covering most of his body as well as concealing his weapons of choice, the two small swords. Fenrir had been assigned to go to Heledir to track down a former dragon rider under the name of Lenai. According to his intell, this Rider had lost her Dragon and the King wished to capture the Rider whom he considered a threat. As always Fenrir wasn’t happy with this mission and was calculating every possible way to avoid having to fight the former rider by somehow finding some sort of a loophole in his forced Oath.

The snow brushed Fenrir’s arm as the elf walked slowly trying to delay the inevitable encounter. He had heard tales of this Dragon Rider and of her majestic Silver Dragon, Galbatorix himself had told him about how he had put an end to the Dragon’s life, albeit indirectly, a century ago before Fenrir had become is free prisioner. A woman in a black dress stood a few feet away from where Fenrir was, she was more beautiful than he had ever thought. The black dress seemed to be cut by a red sash. She was the mirror image of the enchanted picture he had been shown. He touched her mind trying to contact her and immediately he felt a chill come over him caused by the hatred he felt in her mind.

‘‘ You know who I am’’ he said in the elf mind. ‘‘And you know why I am here. Please come silently, I do not wish to hurt you but I have no other choice’’

He said the last sentence in the Ancient Language so that she knew that it was infact true. Fenrir couldn’t stop the sadness and sorrow he felt from passing to the other elf’s mind. He awaited for her answer fearing that it wouldn’t be the one he was hoping for.

[Ohhhh I like :P Any future romance onboard]

Lenai almost snarled. "An elf bowing to the cursed usurper," She mentally screamed but she knew it was likely by oaths, surely none of her kin would willingly serve him. "Fenrir, I shall not let myself be led away like a slave, I shall fight if I must or help in removing your oath," She spoke outloud and immediately brought her barriers up. Her blue eyes narrowed and slowly became like ice. Something about her fellow elf made her stop and not flee or attack. She was sure she had an advantage, her bond as a dragon rider had increased her strength enormously and she had trained until she was beyond her limit for over a century. Her red hair flapped slightly as a wind blow over her. What he wore was strange in her opinion but she was in strange ensemble for fighting in but after Renath's death she had donned the black for mourning and the red for anger at her dragons death.

Lenai hadn't really forgotten that it was likely that Galbatorix had forgotten her but she had hoped he believed her dead, she had tried to kill herself countless times only to be thwarted by her fellow riders. The female elf was an outsider of sorts of her kind, she had no living family, all died in a magical experiment before she joined the Dragon Rider Order. She felt regret that she hadn't tried to kill Galbatorix before now and she reasoned with herself quickly just as she felt an urge to go and take a shot at killing the man responsible for her dearest's death.

"I doubt you will give in though and it seem's we must fight, I refuse to go down without fighting, death might be a pleasant escape, afterall." Lenai spoke in her soft and musical voice, it was different from her cold expression. As she spoke she drew her katana, Tenken and settled into a defensive stance. She could have waited to draw her blade at the first sign of a fight but she had no way of knowing if her opponent was faster then her.

The enslaved elf sighed as he heard the rider’s answer. That was it, no turning back now. He felt himself being pushed out of the mark’s mind by her defences but didn’t bother to try and break through them. His opponent seemed distant as if she was reminiscing about the past.

He knew that he was probably at a disadvantage as he was facing a Dragon Rider, however he could not walk away. The King made him swear under Oath that he would try to capture the Former Dragon Rider. Trying involved having to fight and if he did not fight he would break his oath. So there wasn’t a choice.

Fenrir took off his cape revealing his long curve scabbard hiding his two swords under the disguise of a single sword.

- You give me no choice! Gath un reisa du rakr! – Fenrir used the spell to conjure up a thick layer of mist that would make it very hard to tell exactly where he is even to an elf. Without much delay he drew both his swords and ran towards the other elf. Due to being used to fighting under these conditions, Fenrir could see perfectly through the mist.

– Please forgive me. – He said as he was close enough to try to hit her. He extended his left arm holding his sword backhand. However the elf easily blocked his hit. For a slip second they were face to face and their eyes met. Fenrir felt hypnotized by Lenai’s look and could barely look away. He pulled himself together trying to become the ruthless slayer he never was. – Lenai-svit kona please I beg of you. I have no wish of hurting you.

Lenai paused as she blocked his attack. Her guard slipping. She wasn't ready for this fight. Having come out with the attention to fight she was shocked at her sudden reluctance to fight but she couldn't move her katana, the elf stepped backwards still keepign her katana up. Knowing her eyes would have no use through the mist and not wishing to exhaust herself with magic to clear it she focused on her hearing and sense of smell, enhancing them with a few muttered words. "Nor do I, strangely the will to fight has left me and I am reluctant to resist but allowing myself to fall into the hands of the dark king is undesirable, we must reach a compromise somehow." Lenai said , their eyes had long met and she flet as though that perhaps he could feel her pain. Her heart ached still, empty from when her dearest partner had left her, anger sometimes filled her at the one she deemed responsible but even more she loathed herself for being weak and allowing it too happen.

The newer female rider Selena was a healer, she heard that and Lenai hated the woman for it. Lenai wished to have been gifted in the healing arts, she could have saved her dragon. Her thoughts were not to the order in which she had belonged and sworn an oath to fight with but the a part of her that she had lost, part of her humanity although did elves ever have an ounce of true humanity?
